I have a 55gal angelfish tank (6 adults), which up until recently, had a canister filter.?

Despite the great filtration, a disasterous leak has turned me off of canisters for good! I'm thinking about getting a bio wheel (in addition to new drywall in the basement!), what do you think would be best type?
