Is emotional numbness natural with age or a death in the family?

When the financial end is no longer preying on your mind, you will grieve for your father, and continue to do so for a long time. It just hasn't set in yet, the reality, that he is gone forever. There is no hard and fast rules of grieving, regardless of how many books there are. The author's purported theories are untested and unverified. Therefore, whatever you are going through is perfectly normal, under the cirstances. In the meantime, continue to visit the grave site and bring flowers. See if your friends and/or family members will accompany you. It really helps.
